Smokers lines

Smooth, softened lip lines

Smoker’s lines are the fine vertical lines that appear around the mouth, most commonly above the upper lip.

They are also known as perioral lines and can develop due to repeated movement of the Orbicularis Oris muscle, the circular muscle that surrounds the mouth.

Despite the name, smoker’s lines are not only caused by smoking. They can also appear from natural ageing, repeated lip movement, sun exposure and changes in skin elasticity.

How does it work?

The Orbicularis Oris muscle controls movement around the lips and mouth.

Repeated movement of this muscle over time can contribute to fine vertical lines around the lips.

Carefully placed anti-wrinkle injections can help relax targeted areas of the muscle, reducing excessive movement and softening the appearance of early lines.

For deeper or more static lines, other treatments such as dermal filler or skin-focused treatments may sometimes be recommended as part of a personalised plan.

The aim is to create a smoother, refreshed appearance without changing the natural shape of your lips.
